Tuscan Dreams’ brings the idyllic Italian countryside to life. Here, a historic farmhouse perched on the hill is surrounded by cypress trees and overlooks the rolling fields of Val D’Orcia which glow gold in morning’s first light. The sun burns through the fog that danced through the hills at dawn. In the distance of the horizon you can see a cathedral spire of the near town Pienza. Eventually the attention turns back to the belvedere, and like a second sip of wine you discover something new — a grove of olive trees standing in the shade, waiting to be kissed by the soft Tuscan sun... Truly a scene that dreams are made of.

A Note From The Artist:

This is the first time in many years I’ve chosen archival canvas as medium for one of my Special Edition artworks, and its with intention. The history of these hills coincide with the great Renaissance — The pictured Belvedere is estimated to be built around 1600, around the same time canvas rolls were adopted as a viable painting medium by the great artists of the time, replacing wooden panels. When I began producing Tuscan Dreams, using canvas as medium felt both organic and authentic. Apply varnish brought it to life, and this preserved archival canvas became my selection for this Special Edition of ‘Tuscan Dreams’.

To finish the artwork with the perfect companion frame I’d recommend using handcrafted Italian olive wood moulding (such a Tabacchino) whose finish matches the morning glow of the Tuscan countryside, or aged walnut which is also native to the Tuscan region. Collectors will find this piece fits perfectly in atmospheres where natural tones, plants, leathers, linens, & natural light are present.
